Incorporated of New York City is an independent
affiliate of Girls Incorporated®. Our mission is to inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and
boldsm. Our primary emphasis is reaching the underserved
girls of New York City ages 6 – 18 through partnerships
and direct service programs. We advocate for
gender equity on behalf of girls.
Who are the 1500 girls served by Girls Inc. of New York City? They are overwhelmingly girls of color: 35% Black/African American; 35% Hispanic American/Latina; 10% Multiracial, and 5% Asian. Their family income is less than $25,000 per year. Most live with only one parent.
