GIRLS INC. BILL OF RIGHTS

Girls have the right:

To be themselves and to resist gender stereotypes.

To express themselves with originality and enthusiasm.

To take risks, to strive freely, and to take pride in success.

To accept and appreciate their bodies.

To have confidence in themselves and to be safe in the world.

To prepare for interesting work and economic independence.

DID YOU KNOW?

One in 5 girls

will not finish high school.

Girls in GINYC comprehensive high school sites had higher passing rates than female peers citywide on Regents exams in math, science, ELA, and history. They also had higher passing rates than females in their host schools in general.

We have a long established brand of delivering vital educational programs that inspire girls to be strong, smart, and bold.

Our approach is integrated, positive, and developmentally appropriate. Going against the deficit model which bombards girls with what not to do, we encourage girls to say yes to exciting challenges, growth-encouraging risks, and valuable new experiences.

We work to improve girls’ lives beyond academic achievement. Our programs are designed to improve girls’ emotional development by challenging them to discover their full potential.
